IDT wins Best Marketing Campaign around an Industry Event award

We were delighted to receive the Best Event Marketing Campaign Award at the 2016 Global Carrier awards last November in Paris.

Our main objective for the expo floor was to promote our voice product IDT Express.  IDT Express combines global VoIP connectivity with market-leading termination rates accessed through a unique, real-time online portal. It gives customers complete autonomy to run their voice termination business however they want to, whenever they want to and gives them the power to change IPs, termination quality, payment methods and more, while maximising their profits every step of the way.

Creative hook

So we went with a ‘freedom’ theme but to really cut through a busy expo floor we had to have an engaging creative visual hook.  This ended up being an origami bird (or 272 of them to be precise on-stand!) and we had a lot of fun with it through social as well, pre, during and post-event.

Social success

Our engagement rates were way above industry standards and we continued the theme of origami in our on-stand collateral too in that the visitors could have a go at making their own origami bird, which we tweeted about (pun intended)!

We were over the moon to win this award as the execution really did turn heads at the show.  The combination of the ‘freedom’ theme with the origami bird lent itself to a unique, fully integrated campaign that all members of IDT were proud to be part of, and one in which made a big impact at this flagship telecoms event.
